Gifts for OBX lovers

Wheel turned pottery mugs by Gary Schena

What to give some one on your gift list that LOVES the Outer Banks? Well, we have a few suggestions.  Of course we always recommend giving them something hand crafted by local artists and fortunately Studio 12 has many that are featured in the gallery.  Here are just a few of our favorite gifts to give!

Glass Fusion made by Studio 12 owner Carolyn Schena.  Carolyn began working in glass Fusion about 8 years ago and has not looked back.  She began small making gorgeous jewels such as bracelets and pendants and now has expanded into functional pieces like her popular wave bowls which come in several sizes and range in prices from $39 to $110.00 dollars.

Another favorite item to take home for yourself or a loved one is a pottery mug.  Studio 12 features three different potters and all make unique mugs that are great for coffee, tea or cocoa.  Studio 12 owner Gary Schena’s sea turtle mugs are one of the most popular choices.  Each mug is made by hand on the pottery wheel and is embellished with a sea turtle that comes from a hand carved mold.  Blues and Greens are favorite glaze choices.  Various sizes are available in prices from $24 to $34

One can never go wrong with a gift of jewelry and what better gift from the island than a piece of sea glass that has been carefully hand crafted in silver wrap.  Two local artists work can be found at Studio 12 and both offer and array of gorgeously wrapped pieces. Some with beads and others with charms.  Shown here are earrings by
