Record Snow hits Outer Banks

History making blizzard blankets the island!

January 21st started like any other ordinary cold winter’s day, gray clouds and chilling temperatures but ended with Hatteras Island caught in the worst blizzard since 1988 and over 8″ of snow blanketing the island! Samantha, Gary and I put on what “snow” clothes we could scrape together and had some fun, X-country skiing through our neighborhood and towing Samantha on a sled made from the top of a Rubbermaid container! Folks say they haven’t seen snow like this since the blizzard of 1988!

The snow soon melted and we are back to green grass and sunny skies. Read below and check out the deals we are offering to melt your hearts, and your valentines as well!
